There are many options available for a bridal brunch menu. For example, you may choose to throw a formal and elegant bridal brunch, or opt for a laid-back and casual affair. Whatever you decide, think about the type of foods the bride enjoys eating and the kind of party you think she will adore. - Serve cocktails at your bridal shower brunch. Prepare a Bloody Mary bar so each guest can mix her own drink. Set out the vodka along with tomato juice or Bloody Mary mix and all the necessary garnishes such as Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, celery, pickled peppers and olives. Post a small card with the recipe for a traditional Bloody Mary so guests can prep the perfect cocktail. Alternatively, serve mimosas at your brunch. You can go with the traditional mimosa, which is simply orange juice and champagne, or change it up a bit by offering peach juice, lemonade or pineapple juice.
- Serve brunch foods with the traditional wedding idea of "something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue." For the "old," serve a dish or two that the bride loved as a child. For the "new" dish, select a trendy food or something she has recently started to enjoy. As for the "borrowed" part of the menu, ask friends or family members for recipes that the bride enjoys and will complement your other items. For the blue, serve blueberry waffles, a blueberry tart or blueberry muffins.
- A brunch typically includes several breakfast foods, along with light lunch items. For the breakfast portion of the menu, choose items such as miniature bagels, smoked salmon and a fresh fruit platter. If you want to serve an egg dish, consider a breakfast casserole or quiche that can be prepared ahead of time. Serve several different kinds of bread items as well. You can make these yourself or purchase them at a local bakery. Consider banana bread, croissants, cinnamon buns or doughnuts.
- Keep the lunch foods you serve light and complementary to the breakfast menu you are serving. Consider serving a light soup, such as a cold gazpacho. You can even serve the soup in a small cup or a tall shot glass so guests can drink it. Miniature chicken salad or tuna salad sandwiches also make good choices for the lunch portion of a bridal brunch. A platter of several different kinds of cheeses and crackers rounds out the meal.
