How to Make Your Own Ringtones for the Instinct
- 1). Launch your audio editing program. If you don't already have one on your computer, you can download one like Audacity or NCH online (see Resources). Click "Open." Select an MP3 file to open within the audio editing program.
- 2). Select the clip of the MP3 file you want to use as your ringtone by clicking on the image of the MP3 file to set the beginning and ending markers around the clip. Press the "Play Selected" button to play the clip. Adjust the markers as necessary until you've gotten the portion of the MP3 file you want.
- 3). Click the "Save Selection As" button to save your marked clip, which will be your ringtone.
- 4). Navigate to your email account, and compose a new message. Address the new message to your 10-digit Sprint cell phone number followed by Sprint's text messaging extension (e.g. xxxxxxxxxx@messaging.sprintpcs.com).
- 5). Attach your ringtone to your email message and send the email message, which is actually sent as a text message to your Instinct cell phone.
- 6). Click "View" on your Instinct to open the text message, and then click "Options" and "Save as Ringtone" to save the ringtone to your Instinct.
