- The BlackBerry Curve offers a full keyboard while the Pearl has shared keys. The Pearl is also available in a flip model.

- The Pearl series offers 1.3 to 2.0 megapixel camera quality, while the Curve series offers 2.0 to 3.2 megapixel camer quality. Both can record video.
- The Pearl's internal memory is 64 MB while the Curve supports up to 256 MB. Both can accomodate MicroSD memory cards up to 8 GB.
- Both models use a trackball for menu navigation. The Pearl series uses SureType for typing and texting.
- Talk time for the Pearl averages four hours, while talk time for the Curve can be closer to 5.5 hours.
