Tough Times and the Depression Onslaught
All too often depression is looked upon as being a mental health issue that is present because it runs in the family.
That may be so, but there are plenty of individuals who simply become depressed because of tough times.
It has nothing to do to the fact they are predisposed to it.
Everyone has a breaking point and a rough spot in their life is the number one culprit for bringing people to that point.
So what can be done by this circumstantial state of mind.
Unfortunately what often happens is these states of health lead an individual into having to be treated with prescriptive drugs.
They certainly are important as a preventative of a person being in such a depressed state that they are feeling like they are through with living life in the state they are in.
The problem is though that there has to be deeper investigation.
It is sad if a depressed individual is simply written off as being prone to depression because their ancestors where.
They get lost in the system.
Just maybe if a closer look were taken at what kind of tough times were in the picture, real help could be centered around eliminating the mitigating factors causing this rough period in the person's life.
Maybe then they would view living life as a positive factor instead of a negative one.
If money is the issue then perhaps including in the treatment for depression some counseling on money management and job seeking would go a long way in lifting that individual out of the tough times.
The point here is that a person that is suffering from depression has to be looked at as a whole person and treated as such.
All of the focus cannot merely center around the anatomical workings of the brain.
Sure its easy to assume that the depressed person is having a hard time of it.
The key though is the tough times because of the depression or is it the other way around? So the bottom line is yes absolutely the depressed person needs medical help and medication, but at the same time this person needs help in other areas that could be.
