I found out about this campground on the Missouri DNR Web site, and I cabin camped there in June 2007.
Describe your camping trip:
The two bedroom cabins are perfect. All you need to bring is food and clothes. Everything else was provided. The park office employees were very kind and helpful. The animal life was astounding. Deer, armadillo, racoons, turkeys, all around the cabin. Peaceful and quiet area.
The local marinas rent boats for fishing. There is a small beach for swimming, which was fun.
Pros: The cabins. If you dont like tents, this is the way to go.
Cons: none
Nearby attractions: There is a dam with a visitor center and a couple of marinas to rent boats for fishing.
Further comments:
Ive camped most of my life in tents and cabins, this was the best so far. Spend some time there, you will enjoy it.
