How to Catch the Wedding Bouquet
- 1). Convince the bride to throw it to you. If the lady in white is a near and dear friend, or if you happen to be the maid of honor, perhaps you can talk her into throwing the bouquet directly your way.
- 2). Stand near short, weak people. This gives you the opportunity to tower over them and gently nudge them if the bouquet is coming in their direction. In fact, if you find enough shorter people, your arms will give you a large radius that can reach right over their heads.
- 3). Get directly in the middle of the bunch waiting to catch the bouquet. This is the most strategic position, giving you the largest scope for potentially catching the bouquet. Being in the middle gives you the opportunity to quickly dart to the front, back or either side of the bunch when the bouquet is arcing overhead.
- 4). Stand in the front if you can jump. If you happen to be 7 feet tall or an amazing basketball star, stand in the front of the bunch so you can grab the bouquet before it even has a chance to arc over the crowd.
- 5). Tell those around you that you will absolutely die unless you catch the bouquet. Give them some sob story about how lonely you’ve been and your sad, sordid history of awful relationships. Cry if you must. With enough convincing and tears, the rest of the bouquet catchers may show extreme pity on you and simply move out of the way, allowing the bouquet to fall nicely into your sweaty little hands.
- 6). Use the surprise attack. While the bouquet is in the air, let out a blood-curdling scream or heavy growl. Everyone will be so shocked and surprised at the weird sound coming from the bunch they will turn to look at its origin, leaving you a clear path to catching the wedding bouquet.
- 7). Pay people off. If catching the bouquet is truly that important to you, give the ladies in waiting for the bouquet some money so they let the bouquet come your way. This only works, however, if the other bouquet catchers are trustworthy and won’t just take your money and then shove you out of the way to get the bouquet themselves anyway.
