Background Reports - Before the First Date Or Before It"s Too Late?

Should you run a background report before a first date second date or perhaps a third date? It's my opinion that a full detailed background report should be run on any potential mate.
But the real question is when should you run it.
Before that first date or early in a casual dating relationship? There are many things that can be uncovered right away in a background report before the first date.
Are they lying about their age? Marital status, finances? Aren't these very important issues to know about a person before considering a date? Aren't they full blown deal breakers? Most people would not consider dating another person if they are married.
No one wants to begin a dating relationship with someone that is a liar.
A basic background report can quickly uncover these things for less that the cost of a new dress or getting your hair and nails done.
But how about a criminal record? Would you even consider a first date with a person that is a convicted child molester or rapist? Of course not.
No one would.
But a person who has committed those kinds of crime will most likely conceal it from others and not broadcast it before a first date.
How would you know unless you run a background report? Today many people will find their dates from the Internet.
They may have a profile on Myspace or Friendster or Facebook.
They may also be registered to online dating services.
This can be a double edged sword.
While it's a nice easy way to browse pictures and profiles to find a companion it's also a convenient way for a stalker or con artist to target their next victim.
On the other hand your potential suitor may also have an online presence.
A Myspace etc.
That may be how you found him.
But do you know if he has a secret profile? One where he mentions his drug use and criminal record? Perhaps one on a homosexual site, a fetish site? How would you know unless you performed an online infidelity investigation? We have all been burned in a relationship one time or another.
Usually by becoming emotionally entangled in a relationship with a liar and a cheater.
Isn't it time to become proactive in these things? Take the time and effort to do the same due diligence you would take in hiring a maid and apply that to your potential life mate.
Wouldn't that avoid a great deal of future heartache and grief? if you plan to protect yourself with a background report make sure the PI you hire has experience in online dating investigations.
