Zumba Instructor Training
Nowadays, there is another alternative to the usual aerobic exercise called Zumba.
This is a Latin-inspired fitness program founded by an aerobic teacher from Colombia; Beto Perez.
The fitness program is memorable and different from the usual exercise routines because it fun, enjoyable and entertaining.
But when you decide to become an instructor yourself, you have to undergo Zumba instructor training.
This will be a one-of-a-kind training because you get to stay fit while enjoying the workout as the program combines dance and exercise steps.
The Zumba certification training qualifies those who are 18 years of age.
The seminar will include classes teaching the participants different dance steps, and guide them on the proper fitness materials to use.
They are also taught on how to start and how to go about their classes.
The program has a website called the Zumba Fitness website providing the list of different training courses for instructors and the fees will depend on the date you signed up for the course.
You are required to pay $225 for the whole course when you signed up more than two weeks in advance; the fee of $270 is required for those who signed up days prior to the training; and $285 on the day of the registration.
This is based on the year 2010, as what the Zumba Fitness website posted on their page.
There are six courses a participant should attend and complete so that they can teach and satisfy their students depending on their needs.
An instructor is required attendance to the Zumba Basic 1 for the general public or the Zumba Gold seminar for older adults, before he is allowed to teach.
After this, the instructor can take other seminars when they want to teach specific Zumba programs such as Zumba Aqua for teaching water exercises, Zumbatomic course for children who are 4 to 12 years old or Zumba Toning for those interested in body sculpting rather than involved in general fitness.
There are some advanced courses that require additional certification on top of attending another seminar before you can enrol in the other courses.
Zumba Aqua, Zumbatomic and Zumba Toning will require the instructor to join the Zumba Instructor Network (ZIN) through the Zumba website or they can join in any Zumba seminar, for a fee of $30 a month.
Participating in Zumba Aqua recommends training in additional Aquatic Exercise Association but is not required.
