Finding Your Soul Mate - Tips to Finding Your One True Love
Where is my soul mate? I think this is a question that most singles ask at some point in their life.
Some of us ask the question and just sit back and wait, while others go on their own personal journey of finding that mate.
Searching for your soul mate can be time consuming and extremely draining, especially if you don't know what you are looking for or who you are looking for.
After searching for my mate, I finally gave up and realized that the answer I was looking for was there all along.
Here are some serious tips to help you along your journey in the search for your one and only soul mate.
Make A List: How can you know what to look for if you don't have an idea of what you want? It's probably a good idea to sit down and make a list of all the qualities you want in a person.
Don't be afraid to be picky, this is YOUR soul mate we are talking about.
You can start with how old they are all the way to their favorite color.
You can keep this list on your mirror so you can be reminded of the things you are looking for in a person.
This will be a reminder for you not to settle, which leads me to my next tip.
Don't Settle: How in the world can you find your soul mate if you settle for less? I know, sometimes it gets lonely but it's better to be alone than with the wrong person.
Sometimes we get tired of seeking out our soul mate that we lose all ambition and just settle for the next best thing.
If you settle for the next best thing, you might actually miss out on the chance to run into your soul mate.
Don't waste your time or the other persons time by settling.
Be confident in what you want and who you want and stick to it.
Fill Your Voids: Before you even think about looking for that special person, you need to fill any voids that you have.
You can't go into a relationship expecting that person to fill a void or two.
If you think that someone will complete you, you might want to double check what's missing.
You do not need a person to complete you, you should be whole from the start.
Be sure to do some soul searching and possibly get help for some issues you are dealing with.
Don't be afraid to go to a therapist, you will only benefit from this.
You need to be 100% healthy and in a good emotional place.
You don't want to walk into a relationship damaged and jaded.
Learn To Love Yourself: You can't truly love someone 100% unless you love yourself.
I can't express how important this is.
If you do not love yourself, you are going to bring a load of insecurities into the relationship and this is not healthy.
Also, you might not ever feel truly loved by another if you lack love for yourself.
We all have our own issues, some have been damaged by our upbringing, damaged by past relationships but that damage doesn't have to be permanent.
You have the chance and the choice to be healed from past experiences.
You have a chance to move forward in life and the option to learn how to love yourself.
The most important step to having a healthy relationship is to love yourself.
Life Your Life: Sometimes we obsess so much about our soul mate that we forget what and who we are looking for.
Would you like to know the best tip to finding your soul mate? Stop searching.
Yes, I said it.
If you continue to look and wear yourself out searching, you are more likely to just take anything that comes your way.
You might be so tired of looking that you finally just settle.
There is no reason for you to settle.
Again, settling is doing nothing but wasting your time and will only put off finding your soul mate.
If you want to find your soul mate, let your soul mate find you.
You know, when you get in a healthy spot in your life and you finally quit searching, that's usually when your soul mate pops up.
Funny how that happens, uh? I'm sure you know by now that there is no magic formula to finding your soul mate.
I wish I could wave a magic wand and make them appear.
It's just not that easy.
It's possible that you have not found your soul mate because you just are not ready.
Again, it's imperative that you are 100% whole and mentally and physically stable.
So, put the soul mate search on the back burner and do some soul searching.
Be sure to live your life to the fullest, spend time with your friends, get together with family, do things you love and eventually your soul mate will come out of nowhere.
Be patient.
