How to Make a Pokeball Necklace

    • 1). Create two flattened circles of polymer clay, one red and one white; these can be any size you desire, but for a quick and easy guide you could use a quarter or other round object. Make the red circle slightly thinner than the white circle to increase its diameter. Cut the red circle in half, discarding one of the resulting halves.

    • 2). Place the remaining half of your red circle over the top half of your white circle. Wrap the edges around the back of the white circle and press them down smoothly; you should be left with a half-red, half-white whole circle.

    • 3). Roll out your black polymer clay into a long, thin rope, around 1 mm in thickness; you can use your black necklace cord as a guide to achieve this size.

    • 4). Place a piece of this rope the same size as the diameter of your pokeball on top of the line where the red meets the white in the middle of the circle. Flatten and smooth this piece.

    • 5). Use the white polymer clay to make a very small, flat circle; if your main red and white circle was the size of a quarter, this circle should be the size of the bottom of a chocolate chip.

    • 6). Add a slightly smaller flattened circle of gray polymer clay to the center of this small white circle, and then use another piece of your black polymer rope to wrap around the perimeter of the shape. Place the whole thing in the very center of the red and white circle.

    • 7). Use a pin or hole punch to poke a hole in the top-center of the red portion of the pokeball; this will allow you to pass a piece of string through and create your necklace.

    • 8). Place the entire polymer pokeball on a sheet of aluminum foil, and then put the sheet in an oven heated to between 230 and 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Leave the clay to bake for 30 minutes per 1/4-in of thickness. Remove the sheet to cool upon baking completion.

    • 9). Cut a piece of black necklace cord to a desired length; for a choker, cut a piece that is between 14 and 16 inches long, or for a princess necklace, up the length to between 17 and 19 inches.

Place the cooled clay pokeball on your cut piece of string. Attach a clasp if desired; otherwise, simply tie the piece around your neck.
