The Garden Tomb
The Garden Tomb is the location where protestant Christians believe Jesus was buried.
The Garden Tomb, discovered by British soldier, General Gordon in 1883, is the site where most Protestant Christians believe that Jesus Christ was buried. (Catholics and Orthodox Christians believe Jesus was buried only feet away from his crucifixion, in the Tomb of Christ located in the Church of the Holy Sepulture.) Located outside the Old City walls (north of the Damascus Gate), the Garden Tomb is considered an authentic burial site because of the skull-shaped cliff near the tomb.
John 19:41
At the place where Jesus was crucified, there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb, in which no one had ever been laid.(NIV)
