  Kona, also called Kailua-Kona, is the largest town of Hawaii's Kona District. Located on the western shore of the Island of Hawai'i, the town is nestled near Hualalai Volcano. Located 15 minutes away from Kona International Airport, Kona is an increasingly popular tourist destination. Attractions include the annual Ironman Worldwide Championship and the historic temple of Ahuena Heiau.
