Each has a different purpose and reason for being in the cage.
The swings and perches are to help resemble their habitat in the wild.
Birds must be able to clinch on a branch, or object like it, to keep their feet and balance from deteriorating.
A bird was not made to stand on the ground flat footed for long periods of time.
The swing gives the added bonus of being a moving perch, like a branch swaying in the breeze.
By being able to practice this skill of maintaining their balance, they will not lose this ability.
The foot toys are very important.
They help keep shed the loose skin that accumulates after time.
By providing a toy for your bird to claw at and play with that involves their feet, their claws can be maintained.
This helps to reduce the amount of times the claws have to be trimmed.
There are also bands that can be attached to a bird at their ankle.
This helps to prevent destructive birds from pulling their feathers out and injuring themselves.
The beaded strings and wooden toys are devices a bird can peck at to keep their beaks trimmed and in good condition.
Some birds can play with these or hours and never get bored.
Best of all, the wood is a natural toy that they can destroy and it can be replaced for a small price.
