How to Install a Belt on a Troybilt Tiller
- 1). Put the drive lever in neutral. Locate the drive belt and place your hand to the left of the pulleys. Push on the belt in the center. Pull the belt down towards the engine to remove from the lower pulley.
- 2). Push up on the belt. Pull it over the upper pulley and the reverse disc. Push the drive lever into the forward position, creating more space. Remove the belt and discard.
- 3). Leave the drive lever in the forward position. Hold the new belt in the middle, forming a figure eight. Push one end of the belt between the pulleys and around the lower pulley. Don't put it in the groove. Loop the top end around the top pulley. Don't put it in the groove.
- 4). Move the drive lever to the neutral position. Take the top half of the belt, and then seat it in the high range groove closest to the engine on the top pulley. Put the bottom half on the high range groove of the bottom pulley.
