How to Use Aloe for Haircare
- 1). Cut off a large aloe vera leaf. The bigger the leaf, the more gel inside.
- 2). Cut the serrated edges of the leaf on a cutting board. Then, cut the leaf lengthwise, as if "filleting" the leaf.
- 3). Remove the top part of the leaf and throw away. The inner clear part of the leaf is the gel.
- 4). Fillet the leaf again, this time in between the skin and the gel. Throw away the skin of the leaf. Place the gel into a small bowl.
- 5). Cut away 1/4 cup gel and set aside in a separate bowl. Place aluminum foil over the bowl with the larger portion of gel and store in the refrigerator. It can be used for up to five days.
- 6). In the small bowl, mix well the lemon juice with the 1/4 cup of gel.
- 7). Take the mix into the shower. Wash hair with shampoo as normal. After washing, run the gel mixture through your hair and leave on for five minutes. Wash out and style as usual.
