Mint has been used to stop acne for centuries. It probably grows in your garden or you can buy it in a fruit and vegetable shop. Squeeze juice from mint leaves and apply to your face before going to bed.

Massaging the affected part gently with olive oil also help in fading acne scar. Herbal beauty products containing essential oils like Tea Tree oil, clove oil, Lavender oil, Rose wood oil and Eucalyptus oil are quite helpful in removing scars due to acne.

Mix one tablespoon of lime juice with one tablespoon of groundnut oil. This mixture is effective in preventing blackheads. If you have red and swelling pimples in your face, apply the juice of raw papaya on skin to lessen the swelling.

Green tea bath: For body acne, try adding a few bags of green tea in your bath water in addition to the compress method. Washing your face with cold or lukewarm green tea is also helpful for facial acne. Drinking the tea supplements the treatments and helps preventing acne from recurring. You can also combine the organic honey treatment with the green tea treatment for increased effects.

Burdock root is commonly used in acne herbal cure. It controls the oil production by the sebaceous glands, thereby treating acne. While using burdock root for acne, it can be applied topically or you can drink its water extract. For both purposes, boil teaspoon burdock root powder in 2 cups water, and simmer till it thickens to half.

There is an endless debate going on about whether or not diet affects acne. Whilst there has been no conclusive proof that one type of food does or doesnt cause acne there is a wealth of information and numerous people who claim certain types of food make their acne worse. When it comes to changing your diet to treat your acne you need to cut down or avoid any foods which you notice causes your acne to flare up. It is understandable that anything you put into you body will affect the overall health of all organs including the skin. Try cutting down on foods high in saturated fats and hydrogenated fats.
