How to Build a DIY Food Dehydrator
- 1). Place the bottom of the shirt box on top of the square cardboard box. Duct tape the boxes together securely.
- 2). Duct tape the short side of the shirt box lid to the short side of the shirt box bottom. Let the shirt box lid fall to create a diagonal surface.
- 3). Cut a piece of black garbage bag to fit in the bottom of the shirt box lid. Tape it into the box for a solar collector.
- 4). Cut a piece of cheesecloth to fit over the top of the shirt box bottom. Duct tape the cheesecloth in place to serve as a drying surface.
- 5). Cut a piece of plastic wrap to fit over the shirt box lid and duct tape it in place. Place the food dehydrator in a sunny location and place slices of fruit or vegetables on the cheesecloth.
