The Apple refurb store seems to be coming out of the summer doldrums, at least compared to last week, when the store looked bare and a bit scruffy.

Deals of the Week

This week we found a 13-inch MacBook Air with a one-third markdown that puts the price well below $1,000 but retains a large 256 GB SSD, a combination that is sometimes difficult to find.

Our other deal of the week is a 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display. I really like the retina display models, and I always encourage readers to pick up the retina models when they can. When you can get a recent model (2012) with 8 GB of RAM installed at 29% off the original price, it might be a good idea to flash the cash.

Also this week, Mac minis are well stocked and there's a good selection of iMacs available. I'm still waiting on the first appearance of a 2013 Mac Pro, but I think it will be a long wait as the demand for the new models was very high initially.
