- 1). Double-click the iTunes icon on the computer desktop to open the program.
- 2). Connect your iPod touch to the computer by placing one end of its USB cord into the computer's USB port and the other end into the iPod touch's data port.
- 3). Click the iPod touch icon beneath the text that reads "Devices."
- 4). Click the "Summary" tab.
- 5). Click "Restore" and select option "4" from the menu displayed. This will restore your iPod touch and update its OS to the most recent version. Wait for the the restoration to complete before disconnecting your iPod touch from the computer.
