How to Clean Copper & Brass Without Chemicals
- 1). Rinse the metal surface with warm water.
- 2). Combine salt and flour into a small bowl.
- 3). Pour white vinegar into a pot. Set the pot on the stove on medium to low heat to warm the vinegar. You only want it slightly warm.
- 4). Pour enough white vinegar into the small bowl, and mix the ingredients to create a soft paste.
- 5). Spread a thin layer of paste over the copper or brass object.
- 6). Allow the paste to dry.
- 7). Rub the dried paste from the item with a soft cloth. You can wash the item with warm, soapy water, but dry it immediately afterward.
