How to Sync the Audio on My HyperCam

    • 1). Open your video editing program and click "Add Files" to import the HyperCam AVI clip. Inspect its video and audio quality in the "Preview" window.

    • 2). Select the clip in the "Media Assets" tray and drag it to the start of the program's editing timeline. With the playhead positioned at "zero," play the clip to ensure that it can be edited. The program may perform a temporary "render" of the clip at this stage; this will produce a smooth playback. Open the "Save as" dialog, name the project and save it before proceeding.

    • 3). Click on the clip once to highlight it. Right-click and select "Unlink" to separate the video and audio tracks, and use the "zoom" tool to magnify the timeline view.

    • 4). Click "Play" (or tap the space-bar once) and determine the extent of the sync slippage. If the audio track lags behind the video, click the video track once and slide it a few frames to the right, using peaks in the audio track's waveform display to help you. If the lag is one second, slide the track by 30 frames. Play the track and inspect the synchronization. Repeat the process, making fine adjustments until synchronization is restored.

    • 5). Select both the video and audio tracks. Right-click and select "Link" to lock them together. Click "Export" to render a finished export file as "AVI."
