How to Install Oracle on Centos
- 1). Insert the Oracle DVD into the disc drive on your computer. Double-click "runInstaller.sh" in the root. Select "Oracle Database" and click "Next." Type "orcl" for the database name and "oracle" for the password. Confirm it and click "Next."
- 2). Set the "inventory" directory to "u01/app/oracle/oraInventory." Click "Accept," then click "Next."
- 3). Click "Next" twice more, then click "Install" on the summary screen. Click "OK" when the setup has finished. Open a Terminal window. Type "sudo orainstRoot.sh" and press "Enter." Type your password and press "Enter," then type "root.sh" and "Enter." Type your password and press "Enter."
- 4). Type the following commands in order:
su -
<rootpassword>
cd /u01/app/oracle/oraInventory
./orainstRoot.sh
cd ../product/11.1.0/db_1
./root.sh
exit
exit - 5). Click "OK" in the GUI installer, then click "exit" and "Yes."
