    • 1). Check the room's air temperature to make sure it is appropriate for the device. HP recommends keeping the device in a room between 41 and 104 degrees Fahrenheit.

    • 2). Press the printer's "Power" button to turn it off, then remove the power cord from the back of the printer. Plug the power cord back in after 30 seconds, then press the "Power" button once more to turn it back on.

    • 3). Unplug the printer's power cord from any power strips, backup battery sources or surge protectors. Plug the printer directly into an electrical outlet to see if the error continues.

    • 4). Move the printer to another room and plug it into one of the power outlets. Call an electrician if the error goes away, since this may indicate a problem with the wiring in the first room.

    • 5). Check the power module on the printer's power cord to make sure it is compatible with the printer. If the module is not listed as having a power output "100-127VAC," you need to replace the module with one listed at that rating.

    • 6). Perform a partial reset the printer by removing the power cord from the back of the printer. Hold down the "#" and "3" buttons on the printer's control panel as you plug the power cord back in. Let go of the buttons once the printer turns on.
