How to Make Money on an App Store

    • 1). Research the competition for your app. With so many out there, most basic ideas have already been done. However, it's possible to put a new twist on an app idea, be it a maze game or a new type of to-do list. Download and use several apps you feel are similar to yours, then make a list of what yours will offer that the others don't. These points should be the focus of your summary on the app store when your app is approved.

    • 2). Test your app constantly before submitting. One of the fastest ways to fail on any app store is by having several disappointed customers leave comments reporting that the app is full of bugs and not worth the money.

    • 3). Set a price for your app, which will entirely depend on the service your app provides and the quality in general. Do not set a low price for a good app simply because you think more customers will download it. If your app is well-developed and offers something no other app offers that customers need or want, set an appropriate price. Remember, you can change the price (higher or lower) in future versions, so adjust when you see how sales are going.

    • 4). Set up an email and support forum for customers. If they do experience problems with your app, you're more likely to keep them as customers by addressing their concerns quickly and applying their suggestions in future updates.

    • 5). Market your app. Create a website, a Facebook page and a Twitter account to promote your app and stay in touch with customers. Hold contests in which you give away promo codes as prizes. Contact app review websites to review your app, and be sure they include a link to your page in the app store in the review.
