How Does a IPod Shuffle Charge?
- The iPod shuffle contains an internal battery that is charged with power from a USB port on a computer or a USB cable connected to a wall charger. When the iPod shuffle is plugged in to a powered USB port, its battery begins to charge.
- The iPod shuffle takes about 2 hours to charge fully. Depending on the kind of iPod shuffle, status lights showing the charge status may appear. For older iPod shuffles (first and second generations), a green light indicates a full charge.
- The iPod shuffle cannot charge unless it is connected to a high-power USB port. While many keyboards have USB ports, they may not provide enough power for the iPod shuffle to charge. Other USB hubs may not be powered and likewise will not provide enough energy to charge the shuffle. Use powered USB ports directly connected to a computer or wall charger to properly charge the iPod shuffle.
