How to Install a CB Coax Cable End
- 1). Lay the end of the cable into the stripper. Squeeze the handles and rotate, removing 1-1/2 inches of the outer jacket.
- 2). Twist the inner braid so that 1/8 inch of inner plastic tubing is exposed, along with 1/2 inch of inner copper conductor.
- 3). Slide the PL-259 collar and connector over the end of the cable. Apply a small bead of solder at the two points indicated by small holes on the center and close to the tip of the connector.
- 4). Lay the collar of the main connector into the ratchet crimper. Squeeze the handle until the clicking sound stops.
- 5). Slide the collar up the cable and screw it to the main connector shell.
