Store in an Environment with Moderate Humidity

    • 1). Pour the brown sugar into a covered container. For further protection, you can store this container in a second canister with a lid that fits tightly to keep air out. If you do not have a container, store the brown sugar in a moisture-proof sealed plastic bag.

    • 2). Ensure that you seal the lid tightly to keep out any excess air. Squeeze out as much air as possible from a moisture-proof plastic bag.

    • 3). Store brown sugar in a cool and moist area.

    Store in Dry Environment

    • 1). Freeze the brown sugar if you live in a dry area.

    • 2). Place the brown sugar into a sealed container or a zipper-sealed plastic bag. When you need to use the brown sugar, remove it from the freezer and place it on the countertop for two to three hours to thaw.

    • 3). Stir the sugar with a spoon to break up ice crystals and distribute any moisture.
