    • 2). Fill a kettle with water and put it on the stove to boil. Remove it.

    • 3). Plug your sink and fill it with very hot water and 1/4 cup of tough dish detergent. Swish the water around with a large wooden spoon or a comparable item.

    • 4). Put on an oven mitt. Remove the burners or drip plates from the stove and put them in the sink to soak.

    • 5). Pour the boiling hot water over the burnt sugar parts of the stove. Allow the boiling water to sit on the stove to penetrate for up to an hour.

    • 6). Sop up the water with old rags. Fill a spray bottle with water and vinegar in a 1 to 1 ratio. Shake the bottle of water and vinegar up well and spray down any remaining burnt sugar stains.

    • 7). Allow the vinegar to penetrate, then scrub down the remaining stains with a steel wool pad. Allow the water from the sink to drain and scrub down the burners with the steel wood pad. Rinse the burners in warm water and rinse off the stove with a clean damp sponge.
