Alert ID Group has recently launched new services in a number of different areas, schools, health and travel. Focusing on travel, by working with Norfolk-based travel agents Global Travel Lounge, a new service has been developed to help provide some peace of mind to holidaymakers.

The Alert ID service allows people to update an online profile with their contact details, medical conditions and medication information, next of kin contacts and a crisis plan for emergencies. This information is accessed by a 24/7 Emergency Support Team using a unique ID number on your profile or one of the Alert ID products. If you are involved in an accident, or any other emergency situation, the Support Team can access your information and inform the emergency services of the best way to help you.

Global Travel Lounge are giving holidaymakers the opportunity to sign up to the service with the use of temporary ID wristbands and travel tags for the whole family. The service is available to travellers for three months to cover their holiday with the option to upgrade to one year by buying one of the reusable Alert ID products, priced at 9.97.

There are numerous benefits to you as a holidaymaker, some of which are listed below.

Travel tags:

  • Your luggage is identified by the unique ID number printed on the tag, meaning that none of your personal details are left on display for everyone to see. It also saves time on filling out the information on tags for each member of the family.

  • If the luggage is lost in transit it can easily be returned with the help of the Emergency Support Team. The team will take the contact details of the person who has found the luggage and then call the owner to inform them that it has been found. The contact details will then be given to the owner and they can arrange the best way for it to be returned, ensuring the owner's personal details are kept secure.

  • Wristbands:

  • The temporary wristbands provide identification for the whole family and could be especially important for children, the elderly and those with existing medical conditions.

  • Using the wristbands also means you can make sure you and your family are identifiable by the pool, at the beach or out on excursions, without worrying that you're going to lose your passport, driving licence or other important identification documents.

  • You can create a detailed profile for each member of the family. As well as the information listed above, you can also include information about your trips, e.g. where you're staying and what dates you're away. These profiles can be updated online by the family at any time so the vital information is always up to date.

  • These profiles also include an Alert ID card that can be carried in your purse, wallet or pocket. These work in the same way as the wristbands to identify you in an emergency.

  • Wearing the wristband means that you can be identified if you are involved in an accident. The Emergency Support Team can be contacted on an international number, who will be able to relay any vital medication to the emergency services and direct them according to the person's crisis plan.

  • The Emergency Support Team will also contact the next of kin contacts, whether they're on holiday with the person or at home, with information about the accident and action was taken (e.g. if they have been taken to hospital).

  • Putting it simply, using the service provides the peace of mind that you can easily be identified and receive the most effective treatment to your individual needs in an emergency situation. You will also be reassured that your next of kin will be informed at the soonest opportunity if you are involved in an accident.
