How to Create Sweet 16 Birthday Party Invitations
- 1). Pick a color or theme for the party. The color of your card stock, printed scrapbook paper and craft ribbon will depend on the colors you anticipate using to decorate the Sweet 16 party. Use printed scrapbook paper that coordinates with the card stock and ribbon.
- 2). Fold the card stock paper in half vertically, and then in half again. This will separate the sheet of card stock into four sections. Use the scissors to cut out each section to create the body of four invitations. Repeat this process on the other sheets of card stock until you have enough invitations.
- 3). Measure and cut a piece of printed scrapbook paper that is the same width as one section of the card stock. The piece should be two inches shorter in height than the section of card stock. Repeat this process until you have an equal amount of printed scrapbook cut outs and card stock invitations.
- 4). Center a piece of cut-out scrapbook paper above one of the card stock invitations. The sides of the scrapbook paper should line up evenly with the card stock edges and there should be one inch of card stock showing above and below the scrapbook paper. Apply a thin coat of craft glue to the back of the scrapbook paper and adhere it to the card stock.
- 5). Use the hole punch to punch two holes into the card stock directly above the scrapbook paper. The holes should be approximately one inch apart. Cut a three inch piece of craft ribbon and loop it through the two holes. Tie the ribbon into a bow.
- 6). Apply a drop of the glitter glue onto the top section of card stock. Use your finger to rub the glue across the card stock, so that the entire section appears to sparkle. Repeat this process with the bottom section of the card stock.
- 7). Use the gel pen to write all of the party information on the section of printed scrapbook paper.
- 8). Repeat this process on all of the invitations. Allow the glitter glue to dry thoroughly before placing the invitations inside envelopes for mailing.
