How to Decorate Your Own Easter Bonnet
- 1). Decide what you are wearing for Easter. Is it time to go shopping for a new dress?
- 2). Buy a plain straw hat, after you buy your dress, in a style that is flattering to your face. If you can't find a plain straw hat, search for one with ribbons or decorations that might be easy to clip off.
- 3). Go to your local craft or floral supply store and buy a yard of ribbon and some thread that matches your dress. Also find a few silk flowers that will complement your outfit.
- 4). Sew (from the inside using tiny stitches) the end of the ribbon on the side of your hat (flush with the base) where you want the flowers to go.
- 5). Wrap the ribbon around the crown (overlapping the other end about an inch) and cut the remainder off. Sew that end down.
- 6). Use a couple of tiny stitches to secure the ribbon on the opposite side of your hat so the ribbon doesn't move or ride up.
- 7). Pull or clip the flowers from the stem and sew them onto the hat so that they rest against the base and hide the seam of the ribbon.
- 8). Put it on and admire your handiwork!
