How to Write a New Chapter Name in the Header
- 1). Click the "Insert" tab at the top of the document's page.
- 2). Click the "Header" tab. A group of header options will pop up.
- 3). Click on the type of header that you want at the top of the page. A "Blank" header will create a header with one blank column for inserting the chapter's name. An "Alphabet" header will create a centered header where the chapter's name will be inserted over a double-line border. A "Sideline" header will create a title that has a vertical accent bar just to the left of the title.
- 4). Customize the header using the header's options if you are not satisfied with the header you have already chosen.
- 5). Double-click the first header of the document.
- 6). Click the "Design" tab in the header's tools.
- 7). Click the checkbox next to the "Different First Page" option. This will make it so that you can insert different headers on different pages.
