If you have a collection of vintage silverware, then you may want to put it on display. There are many ways to creatively display a collection- depending on the decor in your house. Try to use display cases and other items that you already have and try to think of creative ways to get your silverware in the direct view of your guests by thinking outside of the box. - Decorate your Christmas tree during the holidays with your collection of vintage silver spoons. This is an easy, economical and beautiful way to display your vintage silver spoon collection at least once a year. Hanging the spoons on your Christmas tree also helps to protect them from the elements and ensures they are on display just for a few weeks a year. Add to the charm of the old collection by tying simple red thread or ribbon around the ends of the spoons and then tying them onto the branches on your tree.
- Create "wall art" out of your silver spoon and other silverware collection by hanging pieces on a narrow wall in your foyer, kitchen or hall. To do this, select about 10 pieces of silverware in different sizes and styles. Tie thin fabric ribbon around the ends of the silverware and then tie them on small wall nails that you can hammer into the wall in random spaces. Mix and match the silverware to create interest and whimsy. Scatter the silverware on the wall to fill up the wall and create a "wall of art."
- Buy three or four shadow boxes from your local craft store. Shadow boxes basically are deep photo frames. They have glass tops and they open like cases so you can arrange items inside them. Arrange various pieces of silverware--from a single spoon to a fork, knife and spoon--in each shadow box. Hang on a kitchen wall or prop on a shelf in a kitchen.
