Continuing Medical Education Positions

• Medical doctors in the United States are required to keep up to date with trending topics in medicine and research by pursuing opportunities to earn Continuing Medical Education credits, or CMEs. CMEs are most easily earned by attending events or conferences where current events, research findings and controversies are discussed in panels, small workshops or by keynote speakers. Career opportunities in the CMEs field include administrative positions for individuals interested in reviewing doctor qualifications, experience and education, then deciding whether to award CMEs toward his or her board certification. Universities and some colleges have independent CME offices that employ a small number of administrators to work with outside conference and event planners to award CMEs to medical doctors who attend the qualified educational offerings.
