How to Assemble a Broyhill Bed Frame

    • 1). Bring all of the components of the bed frame into the room where you want to install your bed. This will be much easier than moving the bed once you've finished assembly. Remove all packing materials to clear the area before you begin.

    • 2). Lay the side rails, headboard and footboard in position approximately where they'll go when you're finished. Lean the headboard upright against the wall, and lay the footboard on the floor. Set aside any extra pieces for later.

    • 3). Insert the barrel nuts — if any — into your side rails. Line up the holes in the barrel nuts so they run parallel to the line of the side rails. Some models include internal barrel nuts that are already installed. Skip this step if this is the case with your bed frame.

    • 4). Line up one side rail with the headboard. Slide the bolts through the headboard and into the barrel nuts in the side rail. Hand-tighten them enough to "catch." Repeat this step with the other side rail.

    • 5). Lift the footboard into position, then line up the side rails and slide in the bolts as you did with the headboard.

    • 6). Tighten down all the bolts, using a hex wrench or a drill with hex bits.

    • 7). Insert the wood-colored plugs into each hole where you inserted the bolts. Protect each plug by covering it with a washcloth or hot pad, and then tap it with a hammer for a firm fit.

    • 8). Add any additional components — such as a bed canopy — according to the instructions for your particular model.
