• Revolution MoneyExchange launched in 2007. It was created to offer account holders an alternative method to send and receive money online. It gained popularity among people, many of whom are eBay users, who were looking for an alternative to PayPal, the most widely used payment method on eBay. PayPal charges fees for use and MoneyExchange does not. Also, unlike PayPal, MoneyExchange accounts are issued through an actual bank, specifically the FDIC-insured First Bank & Trust of Brookings, SD. Function

• The sole purpose of MoneyExchange is to send money online from one account holder to another account holder. Once MoneyExchange verifies your bank account you may add funds or withdraw funds via the linked account.
  
  Transfers into your MoneyExchange account take about three to four business days, while withdrawals from your MoneyExchange account take about two to three business days. Ebay users need to keep this time frame in mind when planning to bid on an auction item. Many sellers require that payment must be made within a specific time period after the auction has ended. Transferring the money from your bank account to your MoneyExchange account ahead of time will ensure that the funds are available when you are ready to pay for your eBay item.
  
  

Paying With MoneyExhange

• Ebay lists a variety of accepted methods of payment, but as of October 2009, MoneyExchange is not listed as one of these approved methods. Although MoneyExchange is technically not on eBay's list of "approved payment methods," if both the seller and buyer agree to use MoneyExchange as the payment method, they may. The seller must note in the auction listing that he will accept MoneyExchange as a payment method and the buyer must have a MoneyExchange account. If the buyer and seller agree, they may use Revolution MoneyExchange to complete their eBay transaction.
  
  

Cost

• It does not cost anything to sign up for a MoneyExchange account. Most of the services are free, including sending money, receiving money, requesting money and transferring money to your bank account.
  
  

Considerations

• Revolution MoneyExchange caps the amount of money transferred at $1,000 per day and a total of $2,500 per month. Most eBay users will not have a problem with this, but it is important to know in case you consider bidding on an item that costs more than $2,500.
  
  Also, MoneyExchange does not accept payment via credit cards like other online payment services so you must have enough funds in your MoneyExchange account, or enough money in your bank account to transfer to your MoneyExchange account to cover the winning bid plus the shipping and handling costs of your eBay purchase.
  
  Account holders may transfer money between their MoneyExchange account and their linked bank account up to 30 times per month.
