Themed Ideas for a Singles Christian Valentine's Party
- Valentine's Day can be quite the blissful holiday, if you have a special someone to share it with. For those of us on the outside of relationships, Valentine's Day parties seem like a great alternative. So here are some appropriate themed ideas for a Valentine's Day Christian singles party that even the couples who are over the hype of Cupid's favorite holiday will want to come and enjoy.
- Going with a heaven and angels theme is very appropriate and easy to find decorations for, being how it is that Cupid is Valentine's Day's mascot and looks like a baby angel in all his cartoon versions. For food, you could essentially serve anything that you are craving; just make a sign next to the plate with a nickname. Get creative. Some examples are "Heavenly Ham Sandwich," "Halo Hummus and Veggies" or "Divine Deep Dish Pizza." You could serve angel's food cake, cheesecake or tapioca and vanilla puddings for dessert. These all have a fluffy cloud-like quality that match well with the theme. Some decorating ideas are to put ripped-up cotton balls over the table to make it look like it's being served on the clouds. Craft stores also have little props like wings, harps and hearts. Feathers also make a great decorating addition.
- This is a great theme because guests can also learn something. Make different name cards for each guest. and on the name card, have the word "love" written in a different language. This is a great way for guests to break the ice and start up a conversation. You could also turn it into a game, having each guest guess what language their name card says. Also, put little facts up around the party about how people express their love in different cultures.
Food from around the world could be used. There are so many crowd favorites that have an ethnic touch like pizza, fried rice and quesadillas. You could use little globes for decorating and tie in Valentine's Day by using reds and pinks for colors for the other decorations. - Use famous romances to inspire your party's theme. Think Romeo and Juliet, Edward and Bella, Harry and Sally, Catherine and Heathcliff or Beauty and the Beast. You can come up with some great game ideas with this, like having each guest pick a character in a drawing and get matched up with the other person who drew that character's love.
This theme is easy when it comes to picking food because anything would really be appropriate. Decorate with framed pictures of these characters or framed love letters of famous couples in history. Another idea is to play some games and give the books or movies of the famous couples out as prizes.
