Enchanting Ways to Use Your Butterfly Decorations

Butterflies are a great way to add whimsy and brightness to a room when decorating.
Whether you are attempting to capture a spring day strolling through the garden, a magical fairy land for your child, or are simply bringing the outdoors inside, butterflies add an alluring and fanciful addition to your theme.
Below are some of my favorite ideas for using butterflies in your rooms.
I don't recommend using all of these ideas in one room, but combining a few ideas here and there to provide colorful and entertaining touches can make your room sparkle.
1.
Use butterflies by attaching nylon butterflies on the tie backs for the windows or shower curtains.
It's easy, and the window or shower will be framed with a delicate elegance.
2.
String fishing line across the ceiling of a room or another element such as a curtain rod and attach butterflies to the string.
This will give a whimsical feel, as though the butterflies are floating through the air.
You may even want to suspend them at different levels in an area like an atrium or porch for a truly outdoor experience.
In a child's room, use a clip so the child can move the butterflies back and forth across the room for fun, magical playtimes.
3.
Stretch mesh across the ceiling, especially in the corner area of a child's room or nursery, and attach flowers and butterflies to the outside of net for a cheerful piece of art or inside the net as though caught on a lovely summer day.
4.
If you've painted a country cottage complete with picket fence or a simple garden mural, attaching butterfly decorations as an accent will add playfulness.
You can give the appearance of butterflies flitting from one flower to another or flying up from a corner into the room.
This can be done with wall appliques or by attaching nylon butterflies for a 3-D effect.
5.
Another cute idea for a little girl's room is to use fishing line to hang butterflies from the ceiling in front of her mirror.
They will sway as air circulates through the room and appear to be flying.
They also serve as a vibrant backdrop as she gets ready for her day.
6.
In almost any room, you can add a graceful touch by gluing butterflies to the end of wooden skewers and setting them inside potted plants or in a vase with your flower arrangement.
7.
Use pipe cleaners attached to the bottom of your butterflies.
Wrap them around bedposts or lamps.
8.
This next idea works in any room, but particularly well as a dining room table centerpiece.
Fill a beautiful crystal or glass bowl with water.
Place candles and flowers, or flower petals, in the water to float.
Use small butterflies along the edge of the bowl to create a unique garden fountain to adorn your table.
9.
Buy bedding and table covers with butterfly themes or applique your own.
10.
There are many other fun accessories available, such as lamps, lighting pull-chains, rugs, bath mats, window clings, clocks and mirrors.
