Getting Ready For Your Child"s First Day of School

The first day of school can be very traumatic for your child, whether they're going to school for the first time or just starting their next year of it.
It can also be traumatic for you as their parent, though.
It can be crazy trying to remember all the things that there are to remember when you only have a few minutes to get them out to the bus on time, especially when many kids have to go to school very early in the morning and not everyone is fully awake yet.
So, here are some tips to make things easier.
First, pack your child's backpack with all of their school supplies the day before.
It can help to make a checklist of what they'll need and check it off as you pack it.
Once the supplies are packed, leave them right by the door that you intend to go out in the morning.
Next, pack your child's lunch for school the night before.
That way, you'll just have to grab it and go.
It's not a good idea to leave any food out overnight, even if it doesn't need to be refrigerated.
Your pets may eat it or it could attract mice.
So, put it in the fridge or another appropriate place, but put a note with your child's backpack to remind you.
Then you'll be sure not to forget it.
Finally, it can be hard to get kids moving, especially early in the morning.
So, to save some time, let your child pick out their outfit the night before and lay it out for them.
That way there won't be any fussing over what to wear to school and you can get them out the door quickly and easily.
