Homemade Bridesmaid Gifts
- Hire a wedding photographer for your ceremony. Choose a photography package that includes enough sets of the pictures for each one of your bridesmaids. When you speak with the photographer, tell him to take a series of pictures of the bridesmaids. Consider placing disposable cameras on each of the guests' tables. This concept will allow your guests to capture images the photographer might miss. It's also a great way to gather candid shots because when people are around a professional photographer they tend to pose and offer their most picture-worthy smile. Catching genuine still frames will help you create a special scrapbook section that may incorporate a little humor.
Purchase blank scrapbooks with paper that is both lignin- and acid-free. Paper containing this matter can discolor the pictures and ultimately dissolve the surface. Consider purchasing a large cover for the entire book. This protective shield will keep moisture away from the pictures and hold any pictures if one becomes detached from a page. - Section off portions of the scrapbook and label each with a theme. If you have pictures of the bridesmaid with you before the wedding such as childhood images, consider titling the first section, "The Early Years." Make the next portion the wedding pictures and the last divided part the candid shots. Cut out large text from magazines and glue each letter on the top of the first page of each section for the title. Use a small amount of glue so that it does not seep out around the edges. Consider placing a small dot of adhesive on each of the four back corners of the cutout as well as one dab in the middle. This technique reduces the risk of the piece being torn from the page.
Glue the pictures to the corresponding theme pages. Place the glue on the back of the images in the same place as the magazine letters. Scatter the shots around the page in chronological order. Add fun-colored strips of construction paper and other adornment to decorate each page.
