How to Make Colonial Dipped Candles
- 1). Cut up 1 lb. of raw beeswax into a large coffee can. Raw beeswax is unrefined and makes the finished candles look more primitive.
- 2). Place the can into a soup pot and fill the pot with water.
- 3). Heat the pot until the raw beeswax melts.
- 4). Cut a 12-inch piece of wick using scissors.
- 5). Dip both ends of the wick into the raw beeswax, leaving the wick ends in the wax for three seconds, then allowing the ends to cool for one minute.
- 6). Continue dipping the wick ends in the raw beeswax in this manner until the candles are the width that you want them to be.
- 7). Cut the wick in the center to separate the Colonial candles.
