If you want to be get and stay fit, it is important that you are physically active.
An active lifestyle makes a person live longer than a person who doesn't.
Being physically active means doing something active every day.

Many household chores such as lawn and garden work, vacuuming and sweeping are good forms of exercise.
If you want to have muscles and look lean, then you can sign up and workout in a gym or get professional help to develop an exercise program.
Having an active exercise program is a major component of ahealthy life style if you want to be healthy and strong.
Some kind of exercise program is essential to your good health and if you have a weight problem, it will help you to lose weight.
There are 3 main reasons why you might wish to workout.

You are overweight and want to look better and regain good health.
This means that you must change you diet (fewer calories) AND do some kind of exercise.
2.
You are under weight and want do gain muscle mass and strength and look better, perhaps to the opposite sex.
In this case you need do workout vigorously and consume a diet rich in quality protein.
3.
You want to feel and look better and have fun doing it.
Your exercise program should include both cardiovascular and weight training if you are going to accomplish these goals.
These activities will increase your metabolism, help you burn calories and help you gain or lose weight depending on you diet and exercise activities.
If you are someone who has not been involved in rigorous physical activity, you should consult you physician before starting a program.
You should start gradually and build up endurance and weights by working out several times each week.
It is advisable to workout regularly and eat a healthy diet.
Once you know your goals and reasons for starting a fitness program, set up a time with a dietitian to help you plan a diet that will help you accomplish your goals.
They will evaluate your current health and lifestyle and what you want to change and will help you design a diet plan.
It is also advisable to consider vitamin and mineral supplements since our foods today no longer contain adequate amounts of these necessary nutrients.
A healthy diet plan should include foods from all the food groups.
The 3 groups are protein, carbohydrates and fats.

Carbs should be mostly complex and should include fiber such as cereal grains, fruits and vegetables.
The food that a person consumes should have vitamins, minerals and fiber.
Fruits and vegetables are excellent because they also contain phytochemicals, enzymes and micronutrients that are essential for a healthy diet.

The second is fat which should be mostly from mono and poly unsaturated fat sources rather than animal fats.
Fats contain double the calories per gram of the other food groups and therefore should be consumed in limited quantities to maintain or lose weight.

Your diet should be high in quality proteins and must include foods containing the essential amino acids.
