AT&T

• AT&T's tethering plan, DataPro 4GB, allows users to share an iPhone connection with any Wi-Fi enabled devices, download and stream music, use the Internet, and use high-bandwidth apps. Users can get this plan by selecting the DataPro 4GB option when selecting a data plan. It costs $45 a month at the time of publication and allows users to use up to 4GB of data. If a users goes over the data limit, each GB costs an additional $10.
  
  

Verizon

• Verizon's tethering option for the iPhone is Mobile Hotspot. Mobile Hotspot costs $20 a month in additional to either the $30, $50 or $80 data plans. It gives users an additional 2GB of data, allows users to share the iPhone's Internet connection with up to five Wi-Fi enabled devices, and offers a regular data plan's benefits, including email, Web surfing, streaming music and video, and downloading and uploading photos to social networking websites.
  
  

MyWi 5.0

• MyWi 5.0, an app for jailbroken iPhones, is only available at the Cydia app store. The app costs $19.99 as of October 2011. It allows users to connect their iPhone to their laptop or any other Wi-Fi enabled devices, like iPads and netbooks. To tether, simply open the app after purchasing and downloading, and tap the button to tether. Users must have a 3G or Edge data plan on their jailbroken phone, however, so the app can access the network to tether. If you are an AT&T user, you may not want to use this app, however; AT&T forces all jailbroken iPhone users that are tethering their phones to pay their $45 monthly fee for tethering as of August 2011.
  
  

Handy Light

• Handy Light is an app available in Apple's App Store. For $0.99, users can tether their iPhone to a laptop. To use it, set up Wi-Fi on a laptop, connect the phone to the wireless network, and then adjust a few settings in the network using your laptop per the app's instructions. This will adjust your computer's network so it is connected to your iPhone, rather than its wireless network.
