How You Can Be Saved Today!

Rom 10:8-10 "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart"9 (that is, the word of faith that we preach), (9) because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord 10 and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
(10) For with the heart one believes and thus has righteousness 11 and with the mouth a person confesses and thus has salvation.
For too long we have made salvation difficult.
Our religious institutions have made it difficult for people to receive Jesus as their Lord and be saved.
Religion equates being saved and becoming a Christian with joining a church or belonging to a particular denomination.
We have institutionalized the gospel of grace.
Religion has complicated the gospel with rules and regulations to keep people under their control and to keep them in their institutions.
But receiving Jesus as Lord is the simple way to be born again.
You can be saved and not belong to a church or religious organization.
However, once you are saved you will desire to fellowship with other believers, but you won't do it in order to get saved or stay saved.
You can go to heaven without ever going to church.
But in the passage above we see that being saved is simple and requires two things.
#1) Believing in your heart and #2) Confessing with your mouth.
What must I believe in my heart? You must believe that God raised Jesus from the dead.
What must I confess with my mouth? You must confess that Jesus is Lord of your life.
Two simple things will cause you to receive eternal life into your spirit and be recreated in Christ.
When you believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and confess Jesus as your Lord you are born again at that moment.
So simple yet so powerful.
Yet many have complicated salvation.
They tell you that you must stop certain behaviors and quit certain habits before God will accept you.
This is a far cry from what Jesus Christ and the earliest Apostles wrote.
According to apostle Paul we are, "..
saved by grace through faith and not by works...
"--Ephesians 2:8-9.
In Galatians the ancient writer also said that righteousness comes by faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ.
We were accepted by God before we were ever born.
Jesus paid for our salvation long before we were ever born! The letter to the Ephesian believers contains a nearly forgotten but powerful statement: "In Christ we have been accepted in the beloved.
" God accepted all of us in Christ over 2,000 years ago.
Salvation is a matter of you accepting God's acceptance through Jesus Christ.
Simple! Profound! True!
