    • The Dell Inspiron 1125 is a consumer-orientated, budget desktop computer released in January 2010. This Inspiron desktop model was not well received by Cnet Reviews, which reported that the Dell Inspiron 1125 is a good example of why Dell desktops are not nearly as popular as their laptop lines.

    Processor

    • The Dell Inspiron 1125 uses a dual-core Intel Pentium E5400 central processing unit. This Intel processor has a 2.7 GHz speed, 800 MHz front side bus speed and 2 megabytes of L2 cache. This is a 64-bit compatible CPU, designed to take advantage of a 64-bit operating system.

    Operating System

    • The Inspiron 1125 comes with Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit edition installed. The 64-bit operating system allows the Dell to take advantage of the processor's multiple cores and higher amounts of system memory.

    Memory

    • The default preinstalled memory comes in at 6 GB total. The system has four DIMM slots so it's possible to upgrade the memory to 8 GB if desired. The 64-bit operating system fully supports this large amount of RAM.

    Drives

    • The Inspiron 1125 comes with a single 640 GB hard drive on a SATA interface. The drive's speed, at 5400 RPM, is below average for desktops. A DVD-RW drive is provided as the optical drive.

    Graphics

    • The Inspiron 1125 does not have a discrete graphics card. Instead it uses the onboard Intel GMA 3100 chipset to provide graphical processing capabilities for the computer. This chipset supports DirectX 10, 1080p HD video playback and 287 MB of shared memory.
