How to Clean Paint Off of Hardwood Floors
- 1). Wipe wet paint from the hardwood floor with a damp paper towel. After removing the wet paint, wipe the floor with a clean, damp rag. Dry the floor with a clean cloth.
- 2). Scrape dried paint from hardwood floors with a plastic scraper or butter knife. Keep the scraping tool as flush to the floor as possible to avoid gouging into the hardwood surface.
- 3). Pour rubbing alcohol into a bowl. Dip an old toothbrush into the cleaning solution, and apply to the paint on the floor. Rub the paint with the toothbrush, and keep applying the cleaning solution until paint becomes loosened.
- 4). Wipe loosened paint from the hardwood floors with a damp rag. Dry the floor with a clean cloth. Spray a polish on the floor if needed to restore shine that the cleaning solution removed from the floor. Wipe the polish from the floor with a clean cloth.
