How to Use UV Light Powder
- 1). Obtain a UV light source. In order for the UV light powder to light up, it must be exposed to UV light. These can be found at most hardware and party supply stores.
- 2). Choose a selection of colors. UV powder comes in a wide variety of colors. Select numerous colors if you plan on using the powder for a painting or other piece that requires multiple colors.
- 3). Mix the UV powder with paint. According to Glo-Net (See Resources), UV paint is mixed at a ratio of between 10% to 20% UV powder to clear ink. For every 5 liters of UV paint, mix about 1 kilogram of UV powder into it.
- 4). Fill a glass bottle with UV powder. Make sure the bottle is under a UV light source.
- 5). Use UV powder to detect thieves. Rub a small amount of UV powder on a valuable item. The UV powder will then show on a thief's fingertips under a black light.
