How to Play a Sound With Outlook When New Mail Comes in Windows 7
- 1). Click the "File" menu in Microsoft Outlook and then click "Options."
- 2). Click "Mail" on the left of the "Outlook Options" menu.
- 3). Find the "Message Arrival" section and check the "Play a Sound" check box.
- 4). Click "OK" to close the Options window.
- 1). Click the Windows "Start" button and then click "Control Panel."
- 2). Click on "Hardware and Sound" and then click "Change System Sounds" under the "Sound" section.
- 3). Scroll down the "Program Events" list and locate "New Mail Notification." Click on it to highlight it.
- 4). Select a sound from the drop-down list at the bottom of the window to hear when a message arrives. You can use the green "Test" button to preview a sound. If you prefer to use your own sound instead of one of the Windows sounds, you can use the "Browse" button and locate a sound file on your computer's hard drive.
- 5). Click "Apply" and "OK." You will now hear the selected sound when a new email arrives.
