Removing Nail Polish From Wood Cabinets
- 1). Dab at the nail polish stain with a clean rag if it is wet. Avoid rubbing or you risk spreading the polish. If the polish has already dried, move directly to the next step.
- 2). Scrape off as much of the remaining polish as you can with a plastic putty knife. If the putty knife alone isn’t working, soften the polish a bit by apply a rag moistened with hot water to the spot, then scrape again.
- 3). Moisten a rag with denatured alcohol. Rub the rag gently over the polish stain until it is gone.
- 4). Sand away any remaining polish with a #0000-grade fine steel wool pad. Put a few drops of lemon oil onto the pad and rub it gently over the nail polish just until it is gone.
- 5). Wipe down the cabinets with a damp rag once all of the polish is gone to remove any residue.
