How to Clean a Porcelain Kitchen Sink

    • 1). Clear the sink basin of all dishes and wipe it down. Insert the sink stopper into the drain, making sure it fits tightly into the hole.

    • 2). Pour enough bleach into the sink to cover the bottom. Fill the sink with cold water and let sink soak in the bleach solution for 30 to 45 minutes.

    • 3). Unplug the sink and let the bleach solution drain. Run cold water into the sink, splashing water onto the bottom and sides, for about a minute. This will eliminate traces of the bleach.

    • 4). Pour about 1/2 cup of baking soda into a heap on the bottom of the sink's basin. Pour vinegar over it a teaspoon at a time, stirring it with your finger until a paste forms. The mixture may fizz up a bit. If it does, let it sit until it stops fizzing and then continue mixing the paste.

    • 5). Rub the paste into stains and scratches in the sink with the sponge. When stains and scratches have been eliminated or faded, rinse the paste from the sink with cool water.
